An investigative panel within the Convention People’s party (CPP) has cleared the party’s general secretary, Prof Nii Noi Dowuona of charges of financial impropriety.
A group within the CPP known as the Positive Action Group alleged in 2004 that Prof Dowuona had misappropriated funds provided by the Institute of Economic Affairs (IEA).
But the Committee, which investigated the case, says Prof Dowuona has managed the CPP’s funds rather skillfully.
In an interview with JOY News, Professor Dowuona welcomed the committee’s verdict, but said it is too little, too late.
